Just wondering if I sell my truck, how do I get my IRP I paid in March? Do I get a credit for unused months?
What forms(if any ) I need to fill out in order to cancel my IRP?
P.S. My truck is registered in IL if this makes any difference.
Please Help.
Thanks
MMM

I dont believe you will get a refund from IRP. I may be wrong but when I registered mine in June I incorporated a month later and had to cancel and start up a new insurance policy under the new name. I was worried I would have to change my registration name also and they told me to keep current one until next year (surprised they were so understanding) because I would loose all my money on account there are no refunds. I would still try though if I were you.

I dont blame you, and I wouldnt let the next guy run under your reg. I was surprised myself, but they told me I couldnt simply change the name on the plan and I would have to cancel and open a new one which they advised against because there are no refunds and I would loose almost a full year. This was in Albany NY office.

You don't get it back. You don't get half of your automotive registration back if you sell your car half-way through the year either...
RedForeman and ThreeM Thank this. -
My permit service told me I don't get the US portion back. Canada yes. USSR no.
