we use applied underwriters who are a combo payroll and workman's comp company. The comp rates are good, but the service is a little shaky some times. Checks get written and all, it's just when you have to change something or if there's an issue getting someone competent is an uphill battle sometimes.

I wouldn't use anything else plus you can automate your payroll process.

If you need help setting it up, go to Intuit and look for consultants in your area. You may pay for the service more than you expect but once they are done, you won't have issues in the future.

If pay stubs is mostly what you need, then Trucknpro (Foglines) will allow you to print a report (including all deductions) for each driver on each load or any specific time period. Once you print out the report, you can mail, email or fax it to the drivers. At one time I used a spreadsheet to do all my payroll. It worked OK, but was somewhat time consuming. In my case, I would include all the information on each load. The time was spent calculating the gross pay for each load. The software will do the calculations, but there isn't a tax table. If you want to continue doing your payroll in-house, you could easily set up your tax table and deductions in a spreadsheet, plug in the payroll for the drivers and the spreadsheet could do the tax calculations. You could then transfer those into the software, print out the report for each driver and then write a check or do a wire transfer. I preferred doing either a check or direct deposit. Of course, direct deposit was the easiest to do. I have been approached about doing my payroll with an outside source. I prefer having internal control over my payroll. It should not take long for you to do your payroll this way. I used a spreadsheet for several years.

I got introduced to ADP through my ex wife. Great company, they do everything including benefits administration.

And they hire SLUTS!!! I mean, they DID hire my ex wife.

    SheepDog Thanks this.
  7. I had wells Fargo do my payroll for a short time.

It worked well for construction guys. Not sure I want them doing my trucking company.
