Both have 13 speed trans, 3.55 rears, and 72" sleepers. One is a 1989 with 3406b with 1.2mm. Has paperwork on rebuild 30k ago. Other is 2007 with c15 acert with 900k miles. Same price. Which one would you choose?
Which truck?

double yellow, exhausted379 and magoo68 Thank this. -
What kinda truck? Pictures?
Id personally say the B model because I love them good cheap horsepower and easy to work on, you can still get parts from Cat for them. -
Be kind of handy if you told us the make & model of truck
-
too little info also what brand sleeper ? I don't remember any factory 72" bunks available in 89
-
Just going off of what you listed, I would say the '89. You have a fresh motor with the paperwork to back it up. You can put in a rebuilt transmission and 2 rebuilt locking rears for what it would cost for the parts to rebuild the C15.
300k difference in mileage is not that much when you think about it.
What is left to rebuild? Trans, Rears, Kingpins? The other truck is pretty much due also. -
The C-15 is a better base engine than the 3406B. If you are looking to keep it, the 2007

Run semi regional. Both bodies are good. Both kw with aerocab. Probably a replacement bunk. I can get a 2yr Warrenty on the 07 but nothing on the 89. Both weigh roughly the same. Pulling 47k pretty much all the time. Skateboard
