I'm in the process of buying another truck, but it's a thousand miles away the dealer is going to ship it. What types of security should I expect from dealer that money was received and title is sent. The only thing I was able to do was have a independent shop pull the ECM. All knowledge from previous purchases from forum members would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Go on over to dealer and drive it to another shop and pay for a real insp. with oil anl. an dino. test, then make offer if all is well, if not other trucks are waiting to be looked at.

I dont know how much the truck is worth, that your buying im assuming its spanking brand new or you odered it offline
And nothing is wrong with that, but if you can afford a new truck, then you certainly can afford a plane ride,or a drive down there to PUT YOUR HANDS on it,and double check it to make sure it is up to par 1st,before throwing money in someones account,
Never be to BUSY to send SOMEONE to CHECK out SOMETHING,that you SHOULD be doing for YOURSELF
unless your filthy rich and can afford to have thousands of dollars thrown out, with time to fet everything Situated,if so god bless you
you have the right to feel free to handle it,however you want, but the way wiring money works is you have to log into your bank account enter there bank and routing information, along with entering price, once they bank receives it,you will receive a notice/Confirmation to your bank that it cleared,
Please make sure you have all the account numbers correct any wrong number can HALT EVERYTHING!! then youll have to play investigator calling banks trying to hunt down and trap down the problem,as far as getting a guarantee from the dealership, you should contact them by phone and email to cover your tracks and ask them to send you there Agreement for purchasing the truck & if any extended warrantys
,but more importantly get the Manager or Supervisor name thats there to Send you the "WIRING TRANSFER AGREEMENT"make sure to read it clear and have a full understanding of how it works,Corporations have them agreements formatted strictly in there Favor and understand what is it based on,what is there POLICY,get it in writing,if they cant fax or email it,i wouldnt do it,REGARDLESS OF HOW BAD YOU WANT THE TRUCK,my lawyer always tells me to get everything in writing.
Best of luck to you -
Sorry what are they promise as condition of truck, have you ran a rig/dig report on it, if they wont give what you need on paper it will save lost $ by renting a car to have it ck. out in person?

You can not purchase online, you must physically inspect the equipment on your own, then take photos; Further Auction purchases, you had better rcvg a great deal & have the money to tow it to a Dealer for unknown repairs...they will come up. (been there done that)

My buddy did the same thing. Bought truck unseen. He got the records and receipts for work done and current engine overhaul. 1st load in and BOOM went the engine. Rod went through the block cutting it in half. So ya I would definitely go see it in person.

NEVER b uy a vehicle without inspecting first.
if it's 1000 miles away. and it sounds like you can't or don't want to go there. i'd be looking elsewhere, closer.
buying, sight unseen. is the worse thing anyone can do. -
Unless you have previous business with the dealer,.. there is no way I could buy a truck sight unseen. 1000 mi or not.
$200 flight and what,.. $60 for rental car? Small price to pay for peace of mind. If all goes well drive the truck back. Have them deduct the shipping cost and you should have your fuel money.
