Boost Guage = Fuel Milage

    You could also have your cruise set to a "softer setting" where it will allow the truck to drop 2 mph in a pull and go over your cruise setting by 2 mph on a down hill. Takes a good hp setting though or you won't like it. We just set our cruise and don't touch the shifter till we get there.

    I have a scan gauge d in the truck now and am starting to experiment with boost. I ran OK to Los Angeles and then over to Phoenix so I had ample opportunity to test it. I drive slow, 59mph at 1250 rpm 2012 Volvo manual. For the big climbs I kept boost at 29-30. I lose speed more than keeping it floored but not so much that I am a hazard. Flat ground I keep it on cruise and if I see hills coming up I take over. I was 79100 going into CA and 78400 going out and my avg mpg never went below 7. My overall on these two trips is about 7.5. I am interested to see how this plays out going forward. I really like the scan gauge.
