I don't think it's fair to bring up that the camaro driver was drunk. I, for one, would never drive like that no matter how drunk I was. :biggrin_2554:

comero driver at fault, pickup contributed. semi driver innocent victim. camera car was tailgating. it seemed the covered wagon slowed down and sped up to try to get away from them and the pickup matched his speed. pickup was being a hot head cause the comero almost hit him prior.

im pretty sure the pickup driver will think twice about being a hot head next time im sure the grill of the semi made for one nasty pair of underwear.

This happened to me before in PA.
Went on for oh 10-15 minutes.. I would go up to 62 MPH (with Crete) in the right lane and a lady (as like the pick up driver) stayed along side of me.
I slowed down to 40 MPH and the POS lady slowed up to 40 MPH beside me in the left lane with many cars and trucks behind her. Whatever speed I would go she would go in the left lane blocking everybody.
Eventually I realized this was some BS game I didn't want to be apart of and I took an exit just for the heck of it to let everybody pass.

I bet that operator wishes he could do something differently even though technically he wasn't at fault. People who just block traffic to be a dick ought to be just as culpable as the roadragers who cause accidents imo.

Ok I'll be honest. When people ride beside me for no reason I put my turn signal on and if they still don't move I get as close as I can to the lines in the road. In my younger driving days I'd put my tire as close as I can to their mirror. But to much can go wrong and I guess I matured

I guess normal or common experience with me is if I am in the left lane & more than 1 vehicle from the right lane passes me then gets in front of me, it's a hint, HEY your moving too slow get out of the left lane. speaking 4 wheeler driving, but applies to any vehicle. we all see it, weather truck, car e.t.c. the p-up did not want to go faster, then thought any & all vehicles should be blocked from driving faster. us truckers have been thru it before. I know I have. a scared driver in in the left lane doing 55 in a 70 he/she will not go faster & will not change lanes, and when you get the chance to pass in center or right lane, he/she speeds up, so you get behind, then they slow down once again.

The driver of the covered wagon may not have even been aware of how volatile the situation was next to him. Anymore it seems a good part of my day is spent with morons riding along side me daydreaming on the interstate. Maybe he didn't see the brake checking going on. The guy in the pickup should definitely be charged with road rage here.

Yeah, that's a horrible idea. Don't play the aggressor in these situations. It will make the situation much worse for you in the end.

Camaro is clearly at fault in this situation. Drunk driving or not there is simply no excuse to drive that recklessly. Now, the pickup driver is certainly not in the right here either, but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone trying to put a large amount of legal blame on him. The law can write him a ticket for not using the left lane as a passing lane and move on with their jobs.

As far as the tractor trailer not knowing any better and be the talk of this thread... in hindsight we can all say what we want. If I was there I would've done nothing differently. I'd try to back off as much as I can and drop my speed... but that's about it. We can all play devil's advocate and say what we want. Nothing is going to change the fact that he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Hope his insurance covers him and his rates don't change.

although I can plainly see everyone did things wrong in the video I can say I blame anyone except the camaro

Camaro pissed off the pickup by attempting to merge right into him. seeing someone was being stupid and seemed in a hurry he slows down to piss him off. the truck driver doesn't want to lose any time over someone elses drama. I honestly think things turned out well for everyone involved. what if everyone did as they were supposed to truck driver backed off and let him through or even the pickup passed the big truck and let camaro through. 5 miles down the road same thing happens but only this time a child gets killed. what I would have done someone driving like that I would have called the the police tell them where it was and I would have let them handle it letting these people pass you because your afraid of them could get someone innocent killed. I would have known better then to get too close however someone else may get caught by surprise.
