    I should ad,...The only reason I focus on the bad side of this industry is because I hat to see anyone lose everything like I did,...I figure someone has to play devils advocate because this industry isn't all sunshine and roses,...

    i love staying home with my family and loved ones and i love the fact that i am not out there working for a profit of .20 cents...a mile...

    And i disagree.if you darn drivers would stop being do desperate AND NEEDY to make .20 cent profit it would not be this way.so yes shut em down cause all your doing is driving the rate down to nothing and spinning your wheels for .20 cent profit...rolmfao

    How is not including medical insurance in my business plan irresponsible?? I have the benefit to not have to figure this in to my bottom line , and you don't... Thus being I can run for less than you and still get by. What are you saying you want a trucking monopoly ... Straight across the board. ?? If and when I need to figure in health insurance , then my bottom line will reflect that . So lets all p@# and M@#n about the guy who can adjust his cost of operation by a very slim margin.. That's a bunch of crap. And I guess I would expect that from those that don't have that ability, or option open to them. This is a Business first , a job second . And you save money where and when you can. Well I do . Don't You? I never once said I was making money hand over fist , without expense. But my expenses are just a little different than yours that's all. Wow what the heck is in the air nowadays???

    what you dont understatnd is 90% of all o/o's expences are the same give in take 10%...it is what it is..and at a 1.40 a mile,and all deadhead and all expences you will be lucky to make 10 cents a mile profit..

    If I ran for $1.40 all the time... No I would not be now would I ... go figure....Did you even read what was wrote ???? Or just pick and choose what you want to read? Holy crap you guys are wound tight... I have to put up with the same as you do , Big companies cheap freight so you call it. I just deal with the stress a little different is all. Run a little different what ever you want to call it ... Oh that's right I'm the dirt bag that's driving freight prices down....LOL You will never see every truck or even 75% of them shut down from freight prices . If they do , the next entrepreneur jumps in and runs like hell , And bang has a small fleet doing decent for itself. That's why swift and all the big companies are doing OK.... WELL , because you choose not to run. And let them do it instead. Are they making money ??? You bet they are ........And you wont if you give up.

    It's irresponsible because if you don't you are only planning for today, not tomorrow. You have to plan for medical insurance, your wife could get laid off tomorrow, you have to plan for a truck payment, the one you're driving will not last forever. If you care at all for your family you have to plan for the future. If you are not planning for all of these things you are also irresponsible to your fellow o/o's for allowing shippers to get away with shipping cheap freight. One might as well lease to JB.

    and thats why jevic went bankrupt too....interesting (cheap haulers)...in the end it will get everyone if they chose to haul cheap freight...in the end i will be better for it because i am not tearing up my equipment for a profit of .20 cents...i can go work for someone let the truck sit and make more for them and still have a nice truck when times are better.i am not giving up.i am just to smart..

    I am not wound tight,i am just glad i do not have to run like a dog and make .20 cents profit....i can go work for joe blow at 40 cents a mile and wait it out,meanwhile you all are tearing up your trucks going no were fast...lol

    10% is a big number to play with ..... Over a years time! If you could shave 5% you would be that much further ahead....

    $125,000 a year # 10% .... Hm $12,500
    @5@ .......Hm $6,250

    That might be chump change to some , but not to me..
