rhock,
sounds to me like something that could work. I've been trying to haul ddg's in a hopper and it has sucked big time.. Summer is not good for ddg flowing out.. i'm convinced I need a belt trailer if ddg's are all I can haul in the Summer. I'd like to find a deal on a belt and have that for an alternative even if it's heavier and I lose some net weight. I'm getting too old to beat on the knock rails this hard to move ddg's out. Anyone have experience with the newer style MT Fast vibrator ?

Trinity belt trailers are pretty lightweight, depending on the truck you can usually get 24 to 25 ton on and still be legal. As far as getting ddg out of a hopper, put your hammer away, lol. Get a pole about 12 feet or so long and punch a hole in the DDG from the top and knock it down with the pole, it's much easier that way. One you have a hole from top to bottom and one wall to the other, just do a little brake check and WHUMP, it all come sliding off the slopes at once, lol.

Ddg is almost all I haul everyday currently, so I've figured out a few ways to work smarter instead of harder, lol.

I have no idea about the banner, I don't see it, lol. And that's just a bad idea to load ddg that long before your unload time. Its kinda like loading cement in the mixer truck on Friday to pour a sidewalk on Monday, Hahahaha. But yeah, I learned the hard way with ddg and I do feel bad for the guy when I see that happen, I usually bring my pole over and help.

yep, that was the method that did finally work. had a load for KC, and enroute was changed to TX.. but by the time I got there with a tire problem, those DDG were set up pretty solid.. customer took half the load and after the struggle to get the first hopper off, declined the rest. but a cattle feed lot took it and had the experience and skills to unload it quickly.. like you said, a 3/4 black pipe , sledge hammer and bust a hole thru it, pick away until the middle is opened up, then some brake check forth and back and a travel trip around the pot holes of the yard, and it came out. still , it's a struggle .. I'm hauling frac sand this week.. had some long lines with disorganized disaster 1st shift , but 2nd shift came to the rescue and got the lines moving. seems to be a lot of activity in the sand area this past few weeks. I could use a good month. All of us could , <G>
