I would imagine the duty on that would be the kicker in someone deciding to buy from a US market. Plus every country has different regulations for trucks take a look at Europe's trucks for example. Radically different from the US market.

Must be converted, we are not permitted to have LHD heavy trucks, and i think you will find the conversion has to certified by an engineer, and the braking system is different here too, needs to all be replumbed as we have different brake valves to comply with our government design rules.

Plenty of people importing Peterbilts, there are companies that specialise in the conversion, but you wont get much change from $30,000 to $40,000 for a competant company to do the job.

You will also need to get import approval from the federal office of road safety before it can be imported.

Plus add 10% Gst on the sale price on arrival.

Shipping for a complete and assembled truck will be $5000-$8000

Its not a quick and easy thing buddy, best of luck.

    :)

There is another factor in this.

must have current year emgine and emissions gear fitted.
the year of the vehicle is worked out on the year it was complianced in AU not the year of MFG.

    that effectivley neutered importing petes...

I looked into it a short while back...

    SOL there too..

vehicles imported that are not of a certian age ( cant remember the cutoff year ) need to be converted to RHD..

LOL. if you were looking for short term ( as in a year or two ) here, mothball the gear back home.

F trucks are stupid expensive here too..

30yo or more in all states except QLD and WA, there must be 15yo or more.

Conversion of an F-Truck, depending on age, is between 20-40k for a late one.

    Donk Thanks this.
