Come on man not getting baby sat in the military. Really I would like to be in that military. Even though I don't need there benifits. Their benifit package is only $50 a week for a family and $20 a week for a single driver. I have made a personal commitment of a year. Will see what happens. I can live off of 1500miles a week no problem. Thanks for the warning though guys

Good luck....

I have worked at averitt for over a year now and have not had any major problems. my miles have averaged around 2100 a week there have been a few weeks with 1600-1800 miles but they were around holidays or when i had to be off for a doctors appt, and i have been home alost every weekend. The thing that got me to work here was the good benifits and i do like that they have you wear uniforms. I have been happy here and feel i will work here for a long time, however it is not for everyone. good luck, and hopefully things will work out at averitt for you too.
bigmikectn and Puppage Thank this. -
Okay day 2 of orientation was Averitt history, image policy, met MR Sasser, then in the afternoon we had benefits. Day 3 was break down and safety. Got out of there at 3:30 in the afternoon and drove back to Savannah GA that same night. Got home at about Mid Night.
Went in Thursday about 10:30 and got oriented to the account I am going to be driving on, and left out for Atlanta to pick up my truck a 2013 Freight Shaker. I pulled a load back to Savannah. I am dispatched on a load going to Chicago to deliver Monday at 8 AM Central time. It has been a year since I have driven a big truck so I will be leaving out tonight being Saturday to give me plenty of time. -
They had me do a monday chicago run every week after hometime. I would run up there sunday so I would have fresh hours to run monday morning after delivery but they always gave me a load at the averitt yard to pick up at 11pm.
every time the load canceled at the yard and I had to wait until tuesday for a load. Several times I had to wait until Wednesday.
The terminal manager at chicago said that they would always have a couple otr trucks on standby in case the ltl had more freight than ltl trucks but this never happened so I always sat an extra day with no pay...
curious to see if they still do that. -
I don't know I am working supply chain ( Dedicated ) so like I said we will see what happens Monday morning. I am sure they didn't buy the truck to sit around Chicago
