Welcome to the forum. Try looking on Kijiji. Especially around the Llyods and Grand Prarie. Hire on with someone that already has trucks doing fluids. Maybe they might hire on you and your truck if you're ok parking it for awhile while you get experience. 'Luck

With oil prices the way they are it is going to be tough. Alot of companies do not want to take anyone on incase the big oil companies decide to start making cuts (which they already are)

Gibson energy is a good place to start, they are big enough that they can risk hiring new to oilfield people.

Oh boy that's a old post lol. I've got 4 trucks now and all I can tell you is it all depends on the job your doing, if your percentage or hourly and if percentage then how hard you wry.

I've got a guy who makes $550 a day and a guy who makes $350 a day. The guy who makes 550 has more experience, is on my higher grossing run and has paid his dues........ I am about to give him a wage increase when he gets back from vacation. The guy who makes 350 a day likes to work a 12 hour day and go home to the wife every night, he makes me less money by far but he's slow steady reliable income and takes care of my equipment So I let him do his thing.

I average about 550 a day also doing tanking work. That's off 12-14 hours.

I'm over in FSJ at the moment talked to a few tanker drivers one from Oculus, and one from Tidy. Both said they're well over the 150K year to date for pay is this true or a little trucker b.s.?

There may be some truth to that. I don't work over there but I think alot of guys own the truck and trailer and can pay more because of it, down side is they deal with alot more crap for it. ...... chaining up daily etc.

As I said though, I don't work out there and am going by what others have told me.

Could be true, off highway you don't really need to log anything and sometimes there's alot of standby time so you sleep while getting paid. Last night I was on a job where I sat around all night and turned on my pumps 3 times in 12 hours for a frac and the rest of the time I was sleeping. Overtime starts adding up after 8 also!
