I have my own authorities running all 48 and all provinces hauling special event equipment pretty much steady March to October. Normally what I do is park for the the winter with the odd trip that comes up so I have to keep insurance and plates for the whole time. How would I get some freight to haul for my slow times. Any suggestions on where I can go find some freight. I have a dry van that isn't bad but could rent other type of equipment if needed. Looked at Loadlink but was allot of $ with out knowing if there freight paid. I am also a Landstar approved carrier but that seems only be the bottom of the barrel stuff especially to get me back to Southern Ontario where I am out of. Thanks any direction or help from folks that have been there done that would be great.
Thanks,
Kyle

This is a great question and I'm glad you've asked it. (I've noticed so much on the boards heading east from western Canada but seems like once you get out there you can't get back west).

The load board searches showed plenty going east from Alberta but none coming back to alberta.

If you want to run someone else's trailer, Laidlaw in Woodstock is always looking for guys to haul live bottoms for salt and that.

Every truck we have sent east for the last 2 years has come back loaded.

i always heard it was the other way around all sorts of freight to calgary not much going back to the peg with bison on LCV lock down.

Prarie Boy, what are you bringing back out of the east? I have vans and reefers out in the GTA every week and it seems to be pretty tough to find the 'hidden' freight coming back. I know you do deck freight, but just curious...

Deck freight. I can load out of New Brunswick, QUEBEC AND Ontario. Sorry, can't help you with "no see'em" freight.
