Queen Liz II is our queen too. If she gives you a recommendation, come on over.

Isaac the standard of living over here for drivers is not that high.
If you want to watch your boys grow up then driving here is not the best idea.
Come to Canada but look for something better. An ex military guy is far above what is driving our trucks over here.
I think you would find many companies highly disorganised and not really interested in your quality of life as their employee.
Companies are recruiting overseas because "the word is out" here in Canada that driving is basically a job for people from third world countries with no education. Young people are laughing at driving as a career... it's become a joke over here.
Its a tiny little notch above driving a cab. -
Knowing how depressed the economy is in britan and Europe in general, if your serious about coming over, do your research. Most companies sponsoring drivers are keeping them out 3-4 weeks. Slave labour, IMO. Have a plan b and c.

There are two ex-pat Brits hauling cars (that I know of) in Atlantic Canada. Making good coin. Good home time. Benefits, etc. Both are from the South Coast. One from Dover area. Not sure 'bout the other. One is ex-Royal Army driver. Another friend here is heavy mechanic. He's ex- Brit Army mechanic. I'm ex CDN Army. "Luck
