Hi Gents,
At the moment I am trying to find a truck driver school in Winnipeg. I have no experience driving trucks at all. I would be grateful for any bit of advice about what school to select. Employment opportunities after getting Class 1 license is a big concern for me. I am aware about MPI Entry Level Professional Truck Driver Training Program, however I am not happy with the requirement to work two next years for the trucking company assigned by MPI.
Thanks, Vlad

Captain Canuck, thank you for the advice, I will visit them.

Trans-x still has their school, no obligation to stay with them after. Do your research... There are a couple that promise your class 1 in a week. Run fast, run hard from these guys. If you have no 3 or 5 ton experience, you need a full course to make you a competent, safe driver.

upnorthwpg, thank you for your advice. I will check with Trans-x.
UPD: visited them, TransX had an Academy but they closed it in 2006. Now they conduct internal training for drivers without experience on top of a Truck Driving School with 244 hours training only, not less...Last edited: Dec 30, 2014

Arnold Bros has one of the best schools. But don't even think of working there!
