Most brokers only require $250,000 on most loads and it depends on how many cars hauled, you have to have $1million liability and stay away from any UShip hauler.

But most brokers now require $1 million liability unless you're hauling junkers.

If he's on Ushipp he may only be hauling 1 car. You didn't say. Insurance requirements are different for type of transportatiion.

montway car haulers has uship wrapped up, they know ahead of anyone when a new loads posted, when you go to there site and get a quote its high but when they bid on uship its about half, i dont see how them car haulers make it at all on there, 1-1.25 mile and thats the bigger haulers doing it.

Montway can keep their cars, called on one recently on Central Dispatch, and when I'm about to book the COD load, they tell me I have to be signed up to UShip to get paid, I told them I wasn't booking a car through UShip, they said again that I had to have an account on UShip to get paid, I told them to keep their cars and won't call on any from them anymore.

While I will agree with you, please dont make blanket statements like that. I pride myself on being 100% legal and dont have to look over my shoulder waiting for the DOT to bust me or have to cheat to make money. Trust me there are ways to beat montway at their own game. They provide horrible service, and charge a lot of money. Of course the trucker never sees it. The reason he wants you to sign up for uship to get paid is most people are going to the payment plan where USHIP has already collected the fee and you give them a confirmation code and the deposit to your bank account. Actually works better that way. Usually takes 2-3 days. I pay 10 business days on all the stuff I broker so works out well for me
