Just a quick question, I just bought a General Lee radio and I'm wondering...will I need to do anything for the SWR's. My current setup is a Uniden PC78 and I'm getting 2 on the SWR meter. Will that reading change when I put the General Lee in the truck?

SWR wont change with just switching radios, but if you have a SWR of 2.0, I think I would try and change it to a lower reading...You'll need to adjust the antenna to do that...

Not knowing anything else about your set-up, I'm leaning toward just moving the antenna higher, and having it placed so it's not right up next to the Cab or Stacks, or anything else, will probably fix the problem. -
you know channel jumper, I'm glad you have a phd in cb's but everytime I come to one of your posts I skip right over it. Because you get way too technical for the average cb operator out here, so if you condensed/simplified some of your replies it might make more sense to the simple minded average joe just asking a simple question. just my .005 worth on the subject.
I'm with jessie, need to move the antenna or try a different ant, might provide a few more details about the ant setup so we can help determine what the best route would be.WA4GCH, Big_m, cuzzin it and 1 other person Thank this. -

I would definitely try the bird perch, most common thing to fix poor grounding on a volvo, put it where 1 of the upper mirror mount bolts are and that just might bring the swr down to a reasonable 1.2-1.5. you might also have to adj the whip up/down once you move it to the perch to get a lower swr.
