Interesting. I didn't think any police cars still had CB's in them. In Mississippi eh? Wonder if every other mobile home also has a CB in it?

years back i had a buddy who was a local chattanooga cop. he ran a RCI 2950 with a messenger 400 mounted on the cage behind the passenger seat. mean sounding radio. the police here used to use the CB all the time as an alternate form of communicating, but not anymore. id say the cell phone killed the CB.

It was where I worked. I am back in trucking full time, but that 2x4 was going to be replaced by a 3 piil dlriving a 12 pill with a motormaul, but I decided to sell them. Kept the motormaul though. That 2x4 did such a good job, I didn't ever get around to using it, kept the maul in case I want to buy an 8 pill later. Ironically, Clinton signed a bill into law saying local law enforcement could enforce cb infractions for the FCC. I could have probably made a lucrative living confiscating them, lol.

Bought a Connex 4600 from RAR a few years back. Big POS. I had a cb shop fairly close to me that i was always loyal to but i fell for the RAR website bs. Called the local cb shop and owner informed me he was familiar with RAR work. It came back a teriffic radio when he was done. The shop has since moved to PA. I have called a couple of times recently and they blown me off with stupid excuses. I assume the original owner is not running the shop anymore. So once again, i am looking for a good cb shop.
Does anyone know of a good local Mom and Pop cb shop they are happy with? -
I think you must be referring to Bob's, I've heard this from several people.I think it is from them taking on too much work -
You are correct. He was in Everett, MA before the move to PA.I have had exceptional work from him whenever he worked on my radios. Ive called Bobs a couple of times the last few months and whoever i talked to claimed they werent taking radios, that they had 300 radios awaiting work? If they dont want it, i surely dont want to send stuff there.
Mad Dog, where are you from? Your avatar is has me scratching my head?Last edited: Jan 3, 2013

I'm in the Northeast, I've had Bob work on a couple of AR-3500 radios when he was still up in New England.Bob is a warranty center for at least one CB/export importer, and I'm sure that keeps him pretty busy, plus his reputation for quality work spread like wildfire on the internet so I'm sure he has taking in a lot (maybe too much) mail work.

State Trooper, all light blue. Wish I could remember what state. MI, IA? It's all a big blur.
