I've heard of causing stoplights to change simply by keying up. I want to know what frequency, what mode, how much modulation, and how much power.
I had a similar experience. Had a Cobra 29 driving a Golden Eagle 150, transmitting through a Wilson 500 mag mount on the cab of my pickup. While sitting at a Sonic drive-in restaurant, I wasn't aware that my antenna was touching the metal awning. When I keyed up, I talked over the music speakers, the order-taking system, and the manager came out to inform me that she heard me through the cordless phone!

These days I believe garage door openers run off UHF so I don't think it would work now.

-
if you give tubes time to warm up no problem with them,i have been running tube amp (elkin) since 1990 never replaced tubes
-
By the way that design (grid driven, grounded cathode) came out somewhere in 1957. The quality of the amp is on par with BGII or another big amp builder of the 70's/80s. -
i take it to ray who built them he takes care of it and has tubes yes sweep tube, other types draw to much power to fool with for me,best trans.amp is messenger dont make them any more
