Why do you use echo?

The other problem is you can't set it accurately using the talk back. You need somebody you know and trust to help you get it set correctly.

Echo serves to stir up hate & discontent, a least around where I live. And as for them annoying Roger beeps, I converted mine into a donkey fart...

I have a degree in audio engineering, did it for over ten years now the economy sucks so I am driving truck. When dialed in right they sound good but as you mentioned not unique at all. I guess it is unique when someone actually gets it dialed in correctly (Maybe 10% of the drivers). I told someone the other day that he needs to fix their delay, wow he got pissed! The delay was so long that everything he said was running into each other:biggrin_25512:

Over delay and over modulation is the big problem, too much echo people usually will turn it back. It's the over modulation crowd that get uptight. I don't have too much of a problem with the noise toys because I believe in freedom and most just want to be individual. What I hate and just can not stand, is the lout armchair ham operators that talk on 11 meter (19) for no reason at all. They sure aren't talking to us truckers, they usually talk to themselves more than anything. I don't get it at all, why? Why talk on 11 meter when they can talk on whatever? and if they do talk on 11, why channel 19? That and W. Memphis popo's faking drug dealers....

OK... so a teeny bit of echo improves sound, kinda like a reverb on an electric guitar. I can accept that.

I have had a lot of comments over the 15 years on my connex. Drivers not involved with the situation would tell me glue the knobs down it sounded great.

I keep mine turned down low and get a lot of compliments on my Connex 3300HP as well. I don't understand why drivers can't get it adjusted right or why they get pissed when you try to help them. I agree with the statement earlier that over modulation is the biggest problem.
