best antenna 2011 Volvo. ???

Wilson 2000 on a bird perch should do very well. Ran that setup with an 09 Volvo and it worked really well.

 

I'm moving into a Volvo and would still like to run a predator 10 k Antenna but not to sure about a bird perch If it's a single or double bolt fitting like the type used on freightliner cascadia .

 

My set-up as well, and it does work well.

 

The newer Volvo has this plastic guard around the mirror like a casing looks tricky to mount a bird perch and tilt antenna forward .

 

I have a '14 that I put a bird perch on the driver's side without any problems. On the passenger side it will be in issue due to the flat mirror above the window that looks down. But I think I saw either in a truckstop or radio store an extra long rod that would go beyond that.

 

I'm in a 2014 Volvo right now and I can't see how I could tilt an Antenna forward for a better swr the casing goes all the way Around the mirror .

 

The change in signal pattern is worse than the swr you think your curing.

 

Please explain further. I have a Wilson 2000 on a perch on a 2014 Volvo. Mine has the older regular mirrors though and not the newer plastic encased ones.

 

Most of the signal is radiated perpendicular to the whip. If the antenna is tilted forward, then the power heading forward is aimed toward the ground. What isn't absorbed is reflected upward. The signal behind you is simply radiated upward. Relatively little is headed toward anyone you want to talk to; the drivers a few miles away.
