Now Gary the older long haired man who works there won't ######## you he knows his #### and would have never butchered your cobra 29 like that he would have told you the only way your going to see more than about 10 clean watts out of it would to put a kicker behind it

got my radio tuned at the same cb shop ( atlantic coast communications ) had the young guy do it. he showed me the before and after and even what the modulation looked like on the heart beat thingy. i took it back the next day cuz some old dude was there and i wanted to verify it was done (gary i guess after reading this thread) and he was an ### to me. it seemed like if he wasnt gonna make any money he did not wanna deal with me.

from now on ill only deal with the young guy. his name is Leo btw

What the real Pro CB guys are saying is if you crank the radios up wide open, sure it gives you more power that you can see on a meter but you get bleed over into 5+ channels above and below your selected channel. Some of these CB shops don't understand all they think they know about CB's and need to get their books back out a while.

I'm not saying these folks at Petro do this because I don't know them. I actually witnessed this very thing at another shop. The CB shop owner came in from a road trip wanting to know why the hell his tec was blaring Audio, audio audio, check check check check 123 check check on channel 19. The tec said, " I was testing this radio on channel 15 not 19". And they both sort of scratched their heads in disappointment.

So there ya have it folks, strait from a respected CB shop that I will not mention the name of because I ain't the kind that tears folks down but build people up. Everyone is learning as they go and no one knows all they need to know at any given time.

Here is an example of a modded radio. It sounds great on the air but its bleeding over into nearly all channels. The radio in the vid is listening to the radio thats bleeding over.

Why all the fuss about bleedover? Hell you hardly hear traffic on 19, let alone 18 or 20
