Thank you Big_m. Sirio seems to be a good choice, based on what people say. I am leaning towards to permanent instal instead of magnet mount mount for several reasons, but might go with magnet first before I would drill roof. Isn't Sirio's whip visually too long for a car?
Mad dog 20/20, are you talking about

Sirio is about 78" tall. Mine are both on top of mini vans. You can hard mount them.
barrier12 Thanks this. -
A little bit too long for a car I guess, but on another hand +/- foot or two...
Will I need to tune Sirio or it is already pre-tuned?
I am considering hard mount. Is it easy to remove Sirio or do you need to open vehicle? -
Mine came ready to run on the CB band. I tuned mine to do both the 10 & 11 meter bands. No it would not be to tall for a car. Just twist it off.
barrier12 Thanks this. -
Thank you Big_m, I guess I need to put it and see how it looks in real life.
Did anybody install NMO on a car with sunroof, is there enough clearance between sunroof and roof itself or hole needs to be drilled closer to the end of the car? -
Yeah, that's the place, Good honest work, NO BS, NO smoke & mirrors, NO so-called "swing kits", just a proper alinngmentbarrier12 Thanks this. -
Thank you for the confirmation Mad Dog 20/20.

I have bought from Newport Bay in East Brunswick, White Dotte in Southampton (near Mt.Holly) and Cheap Ham in Lakehurst (Manchester) but have never had work done by any of them. I have talked to all of them about mods & tricks though. A lot of my co-drivers deal with Newport Bay and I have never heard a complaint about their work. Cheap Ham seems to have the best prices but he may have order some stuff as CB is a sideline for him. Years ago there was a guy at the truck stop off 295 in Paulsboro in South Jersey but I never dealt with him or heard much and I don't even know if he is there anymore. Hope some of this helps you.
To answer your original question, I bought a Lil Will from a co-worker who just retired and am using in my pickup. The SWRs were right on with the antenna on the roof but I haven't used it much so I don't have any reception reports to share.Last edited: Oct 10, 2014

Thank you for your reply NJ diesel.
I stopped at Newport Bay, talked to the guy, seems to be normal place. I am right at 50/50 now, on one hand magnet mount seems as a good decision for now, on another-I see benefits of permanent mount. -
Permanent mount is best if installed correctly.
barrier12 Thanks this.
