CB killing turbo boost??????

Bad installation....make sure your power is coming from the battery, not pick a wire. run it to the battery, fuse it at the battery. Ground it to the frame .

 

Wires might have rubbed the insulation off and you could be grounding out is my thought

 

Pick a positive battery post that doesn't have a lot of other electrical wires running from it had same problem when I hooked up my connex 4600

 

I agree on a wiring problem. Either using factory hot and ground connection and your radio pulling enough amps to "steal" amps that should be going to engine computer. Really can't imagine that radio pulling that> Hot to battery and ground to frame, only way to go.

 

You know I saw this when you posted it, didn't think much of it but then I thought about this for the week and will tell you what I think and assume what you are talking about.

First off I am thinking that the radio is on the dash, if this is right, then the coax may be run in such a way that it is coming close to the bulkhead connector or wiring that goes to the ECM.

Second the coax may be leaky, it happens and the only real way to figure that out is to replace it OR you are using the factory coax which it has a splitter for the am/fm and so on. Either way, replacing it may be a good idea.

Third the radio was "peaked" or tuned up wrong, which a good proper tune up would help.

OH I forgot something, did you try to filter the dc from the radio. What I mean is to put some ferrite beads on the power lines to filter the RF out of the radio. I know this may not make sense but I remember something about doing that to help with an rf problem.
