Preface: Company driver, new to industry, 2013 Cascadia that company will retire in a year ish. Factory wiring is present but not sure if a cab has ever been installed. Driver side antenna is broken off at mount. I've bought a Cobra 29 lx and a road king noise canceling mic. Have purchased an antenna yet. I want a decent set up but don't desire being able to power to Europe.
My questions:
1.) What is ball park to have the cb system installed. I want it overhead in sunglasses holder area but want it a clean install thus not diy.
2.) Wilson antenna?? 2000 or 5000? Or Francis pre tuned? Or just go with installers preference?
3.) Leave the factory coax or have new run?
4.) I want the radio and will be diy portable sirius with a exterior antenna mounted in the spot mirror location. Thus, leave the "diplex" ( not certain that's proper terminology) intact? Or remove?
I'm hesitant to invest loads of money in parts of an install I can't take with me if I change trucks.
Thanks to all who offer their expert opines.
Seeking advice on initial setup.

Here is most everything I know about it.

Did the complete install on a 2014 Cascadia,
I used the bird perch mount on the drivers mirror bolts to start.
The stock coax is goes through a diplex box that uses the same antenna for TV,CB and stereo.....not good at all for CB.
No range at all with the stock setup.
The sunglasses holder comes out with two screws and a full size radio just fits the hole.
I ran brand new coax, new mount and started testing antennas.
The Wilsons would not tune well with the center load coils.
Next was a 5.5 Hotrod antenna I bought from Amazon along with a Ranger SRA 198 mic.
Screwed the antenna on and actually all i had to do was angle it forward about 15 degrees and the SWR was pretty dead on.
This was with a old Galaxy 44V radio.
All the radio checks said sounded top shelf.
This is the antenna from Amazon...it is a Francis,
27 bucks and free shipping.....Amazon sells the ranger mics for great prices too.

I did try the Wilson 5000 and a 2000...not bad but SWR I could not get low enough. -
So just bypass the duplex box? Being a novice I'm assuming that leaves the radio/TV antenna intact?
Can a complete novice install your setup? -

I would suggest a professional installer. I know we are not supposed to promote our own business, but seeing as its not mine I will suggest 440 Cb shop.
You can find him by Google, or his Facebook page.
He is an electrical engineer and does amazing work. He will set it up how you want it and make it look completely stock if you wish. He is not a snip and clip cb guy. 440 will walk you through everything he does step by step and show the difference between his work and those other guys. Prices are very reasonable especially for the outcome.
Tell him Forrest sent you. -
440 c shop? Would that happen to be the exit on I 40 tween Knoxville and Asheville?

Iloveatrucker, I know a number of Swift company drivers who had Cascadia that were "retired" at 500k.
