thats a nice rig there !!
you could even drive a four pill with it ............ ifin ya wont too . -
I'm gonna keep it the way it is, I want to get it peaked and tuned but I'm afraid to let someone open it and hack it up. I would like to get a linear amp for it as well about 125 watts would be do me fine.
-
Good!!! I was worried that you were spending too much time with that blow up girlie doll.

sparkys does good work . got my 78ltw talking good .
since you want to be clean and its an SSB capable radio you might want to consider the palomar 225 . its an AB biases 2x1446 pill amp with automatic ssb switching , and filtering too . a very clean little box . i like mine a lot . -
I planned on keeping it on am most of the time, I just wanted a Galaxy cause I've heard they are great radios with more features. I especially like the side mounted mic connector for some reason.
-
Does it need to be peaked and tuned to use a linear amp or can a stock radio handle a linear amp?
-
all new radios can benefit from a proper alignment , exports more than regular cb's . depends on the amp as far as a tune up goes . a radio modulating 30 watts into a texas star 500 will get all the clean power four 2879's can do .
