I've been a company driver 6yrs. Their lease plan never looked like it was for me, however, they have a new maintenance/warranty plan where everyone pays in and all repairs are done out of this plan, rather than the individual operator's repair account. Very interesting.

The maintenance funds you set aside are yours. In the event that you do not have excessive maintenance costs, the remaining funds in the account are yours.rocknroll nik Thanks this. -
While it would not seem fair to pay in and not need any extensive repairs, it could be a life saver if you just started and needed an overhaul. It's kind of like buying an extended warranty. I'm not familiar with all the details, such as anything that might be excluded, but I'll look into it.

You have been there for six years, what kind of company is celadon? are there miles good,do you get out west much? You have been there awhile so it must be good. -
It seems they are one of the less bashed companies on most message boards, if that's any indicator. I'm out west now. I didn't just jump on the first company that responded to my application submission. I visited the offices (in El Paso) of Swift, CFI, Shippers, PTL, MVT, SAIA, etc. and actually sat in their offices and talked with them. I spent 2 years trying to broker what I felt was a fair deal for myself. Some companies were open to negotiation and some were "take it or leave it" offers. The only other places I would seriously consider are MVT or ......the name escapes me, but they haul waterheaters for AO Smith, because they are companies who seemed willing to offer more to get some drivers with experience, longevity, and a good recommendation from present/previous employer. Not to hijack this thread, but if you care to know my previous weeks miles were: 614, 3648, 2187, 2598, 1859
Daytona88 Thanks this. -

I am cise aganisturrently in there program. I would advishanicale not getting into it. Unless you are very lucky and the truck you are aassigned is in great mechanial shape don't expect to make any money. If you break down for any extended period of time as I have on three seperate occassions you will never make any money. I have only had one paycheck since starting in September. Just be aware and shop around a lot.
