All I can say about the lease program there is this....It was brought up by a company official during orientation that he was "thankful no one in the room signed up for the lease purchase program". Just my 2 cents.

ok thats good inside info!!

I called Celadon and asked about it and the recruiter transfered me to a lady in "charge" of the program and they did not know if the trucks were equipped with APUs, what their governed speed was, nor would they disclose the lease purchase completion bonus total nor what would be owned at the end.... I don't the idea of getting paid 90 cents per mile, 30 cents deducted for truck, 10 cents deducted for some other charge, and then also paying a settlement towards fuel each week to ultimately own a truck with 500,000 miles by the time it is paid off.

Do note they do not give you a new truck. It is a truck with at least 100,000 miles so after your 350,000 mile lease it can have as much as 500,000 miles....

Owning a truck out right with 500K is not a bad thing. If well maintained a truck can easily last over a million miles.

None of our trucks have actual APUs. Not a smart move IMHO. They have an extra set of batteries for heat and ac when parked

I started on a Lease-Pirchase contract a week ago. I chose a 2011 Freightliner Cascadia with 147k on it, and the truck has been nothing but trouble. They change truck #'s when they get turned back in, so I will post and pass along the VIN# of this one when I get back to it. It's at Stoops right now because the truck dies without warning while going down the road, no warnings. Just dies. everything electrical goes dead. After a second or two, everything comes back on like nothing happened. No computer codes to trace. in 2 weeks, I've only been able to make 1 trip from Indy to Arkansas and a load back to Indy. I'm getting the impression that all the used trucks in the program have serious problems and should be left alone. They do lease NEW trucks, but there is a looooong waiting list. Oh, and they messed up my recent payroll so bad they owe me almost $800! Bottom line, bust their balls before they bust your bank account!
