Don't know about NYC..
But the DC thing is obviously not true.
If you pickup from or deliver to a Factory, that wouldn't be a DC right? -
tangerineGT and Klingon Thank this.

Who would want to deliver to just DC's, I've usually found the fewer doors the place has the quicker they get in and out. Why? Because if your on time YOU are the reason they are their. At a big DC your just one of hundred trucks.

I think what your recruiter meant is that you don't deliver to individual stores
I've never docked at a store when I worked at Central, but I can't speak for everyone, MOST of the time it was DC's, D/C-D/C or Factory-D/C, -
Well, being part of Swift, you will now deliver to stores as well.
Walmart, Costco, Dollar General, Sears, Home Depot and many other individual stores are in your future.
And as Gabe said, they are many times a better experience than DC's.
Today at a Walmart DC it took me nearly an hour just to get through the gate because so many trucks were there at the same time. That kind of thing seldom happens at stores.
Some of the docks at smaller stores can be a bit tricky though. -

Yea that DC thing was a lie , I have had runs that are a 3 stop to Fred Myers stores , and a 2 stop run for Costco
