I currently work at Conway. My advice is if you are a young guy who has young guy bills like if you live at home still or if you have a wife that makes good money then Conway is a good fit for you. Everything here is based on seniority EVERYTHING! In the winter on your 1st year u will be working the dock or hosteling and working maybe 4-5 hrs a day 20-25 hrs a week. If you can weather the storm and make it thru your first 2 years until u get some seniority under ur belt than this job is for u. The insurance sucks here well your 1st year. You dont qualify for the gold plan until after 1 year of full time service. Also you don't get vision or dental until after your first year. Also I said 1 year of full time employment they don't count the time you been there until you become full time. Oh and you will have to work the dock everyday for your first 2 years. Yes u get home everyday but there's times where they can send you out on a night run if they don't have anyone else to cover it. This is a forced dispatch and if you don't have any time under your belt you r forced to do it. The pay is 19 hr and you top out in 3 years at 22.50. This is a good company if you have the time to wait but if you don't have that luxury Id keep looking to another company. Good luck,

Morning Folks I'am new to this site. It seems like the info on here is pretty much what I've heard from drivers on the road. I just got approved at Conway for their team division Just waiting for my partner to be approved. Can anyone tell me how their teams make out. I haved talked to drivers and they for the most part happy. RJ33RD If it's like that there I think I am going to be in trouble because I always tell my dispatcher I drive as fast as I feel SAFE if it's 70 it's 70 if it's 30 then thats as fast as I am going. Anyay I would appreciate any feed back

I am currently looking to work for con-way just wondering what does it mean when you bid on your runs
-
When you start out most likely you will be Flex/Shift/Special or whatever the particular company calls it board. That means you take what is offered, what you do on a day to day basis will be different. You will most likely get a lot of dock time, and a little bit of driving time until you get enough seniority to bid on nicer runs.
Usually bidding is done yearly (I think, don't quote me on it.)
