Crete will hire Student Drivers from approved schools. The school I will be finished with on Tuesday of this week use to be on Crete's list of approved schools.
The scuttle butt:
I go to a SAGE school (5-weeks 166 hours). From what I have been told, SAGE = 4 people Mr S, Mr A, Mr G, and Mr E. Well a few yeas back there was some sort of truck accident in Florida where 6 people were killed and a Crete driver was at fault. I was told that Crete had an Insurance Company investigate the accident, and come to find out "Mr E, part owner of SAGE (5% from what I was told) had something to do with this insurance company and found that Crete was at fault for the accident.
Sense then Crete will not take any student drivers from any SAGE School.
I feel like I am getting the shaft here and really don't know what I can do.
I have been driving Auto and Motorcycles for over 30 years. Good MVR, no Criminal history, no drug problems, and I have taken the exams for all endorsements.
I have read a lot on here and I have done a lot of research on Crete. I would like to start my driving career with them, but due to the school that I paid for out of pocket I am not allowed.
I am not a job hopper. I like what I have read about Crete. Crete claims to want good drivers, and that they want to be able to retain them too.'
Does anyone have any good advice on what I could do, or may someone that I can contact within Crete???
Thank you
How to get in the door?

Talk to Crete, when they say no due to school, ask to speak to their boss. When done with that boss, if the answer is still no, ask to speak with their boss. Do this until you get to the top. Go on the web site and try to find an address for corporate. Write the CEO (or whatever they call their top dog) and explain to him that you want to work for Crete because of your research and postive comments from his drivers. Go to the top if you have to. Good Luck!
MaLsR and HD_Renegade Thank this. -
Please if I am wrong in thinking this let me know. If you give someone a driving test can't you tell pretty soon that the person has a good idea how to drive and be safe?? -
Do you really think just because you are a nice guy they will reverse a decision?
The decision to not use that schools grads probably came from at or near the top.
You may be kicking a dead horse and wasting time that could be used driving for someone that will hire you.
Drive for someone else for a year or two then apply at Crete. -
I would make one run at them and leave it at that. There are plenty of other good companies that hire students. I would go work for one of them for a year, and then try again with Crete. Either that or find one of there approved schools and go through it. Good luck with whatever you do.

Good luck. -
I was told if I will drive for anther company for 6 months after graduating Crete might consider me?
Persinaly I paid for top notch schooling and agree I am not a job hopper either why Crete wants other employers to train there futer drivers is beyond me how ever my loyaltys will be with the company that trains me.
I think Crete has a connection to its recomended schools not sure if its for a contract on tuition or what but OTC beat there local school standards in hours and quilifications yet thertre responce is the school didnt meet there miminum standards.
Persinaly I find it insulting to permote job jumping and to state schools not in there network dont meet there miminum standards although Im glad thay did because it shows the carector of there company and I have friends who work for them and thay know my school and couldnt believe Cretes response. -
Why a company would want you to get exp somewhere else?
insurance
washouts
let someone else teach the basics.
I mean I could go on...
as the real issues between Crete and sage? Who knows for sure. Its all a p###ing match probably.
