I understand Doored but you said you don't have the endorsements like air brakes and etc. You can't drive a big rig with air brakes without the endorsement. That is why I say be capable of passing the paper tests when you arrive. I dunno if a Gen Knowledge CDL issued in 1 state can be accepted/attached to an endorsement from another State? Do you? I would want to know before going. Never assume!!--lol!

ok let me explain this to
    1. houston has to companys that you rent there rigs for 375-and 420 if you want the questions and answers for the dmv test.
    2. study the questions and answers and you practice driving there rig for the driving test
3.i went in took state test, then took my other tests one by one and passed all of them frist try.
    4. took my driving test with a flatbed automatic.
    5.PASSED

so with that being said good luck RAY its not that hard .....just for me driving in a rig for me is kind of differnt from my small truck which is a stick....

10 speed from what i learned is like
    9 is 4 th gear
    10 is 5th gear
then splice up to go to 6th which is 1st
then go up to 7th which is 2nd
then 8th is 3rd...kind of got the hang of it i drove a eaton 10 speed international, tractor and trailer was 28 ft.

How long has it been since you got your cdl? If it has been less than 30 days, you don't have to go through Roeh's school.

Ohhh Doored!! I could have sworn you had said you only had the Gen Knowledge!

Danny-- I THINK most companies require most drivers and especially newbies to go thru several days of orientation to drive for them. One other thing to consider is if you are under contract with a company that put you thru school and you are obligated for 8 months like CRST requires or 120K miles with Roehl you won't be hired by another company until the contract is satisfied or resolved. That is the word I got from Roehl when I called asking questions about their program.
