That's $1023.50 without fuel, a week! I keep reading weekly deductibles around $850.00 The maintenance number is based on 2000 miles so, obviously it could get higher/lower. I believe my number is actually lower than it should be, bobtail Ins. is deducted weekly I believe.

I have been looking for a company to lease my truck with, i bought a 1985 Peterbilt with plans to go with Landstar only to find out they are now using EOBR and Elogs. Which i cant install this in my truck because the truck is to old. The last time i spoke with Landstar they told me my truck was fine, which was about 8 months ago. Problem was i ended up having to do an overhaul which took me a while (Poor with no money), so i drove for a company while i saved up for the parts. So now i find Crst malone and they also say on their web site that you can lease on any age truck. My question is how can they clam age of truck doesn't matter as long as it passes DOT, but then say you have to run Elogs? I cant find anywhere on Crst's web site where it says O/O's have to put EOBRs in their trucks. I seen where it said L/P's have to run EOBR's. I can't sell the truck because i have more money in the thing then its worth. So i guess im stuck.

Last I heard, CountryMile, was that O/O's who lease on to Malone have a choice, weather or not they want to install/use elogs... Call and ask to be sure though... I personally think it is awesome that you own/drive an 85 pete, ever think about getting your own authority?

Yeah sheepdog, i checked on running my own authority. But every insurance company ive talked to wants $4,000 down and that is to cover 6 months. $8,000 a year, that is for 48 states. The Dmv said tags would be $1,400 and Dot number is $350. I just dont have the money right now. I drive a dump truck for a small company and when winter rolls around the work stops. We've only worked about 30 hrs since December 19th. Some guys haven't worked at all. So what little money i do have is going to bills. So the only way i could work my truck is to lease on with someone.

Honestly, there have been a couple of times that I kept my door open too long at home and didn't make a paycheck and was only about 800.00 in the hole. However, on that note, it's easy for me to go back the following week with a couple hundred to the positive and the week after be back up to 800.00 to 1200.00 weekly. When I've only done one run because of being home too long, I won't turn that run in until the following week. So that "about 800.00" is with no paperwork being turned in.

I do better, even if just slightly, here than I ever have as a company driver. As long as things go like they are now, I'll see this lease through.
