Smaggs goes to Marten. My Experience with Marten Transport.
So. I did my time with Knight. I loved it, I hated it. I laughed. I cried. I puked into a dixie cup. I finally decided it was time to move on.
Why? I have friends at Marten. They have been happy.
My pay is increasing... they have APUs in ALL of their trucks. I like their rules.
I feel that I will have a better experience. I've been trucking since June 2011. So I'm still a rookie, but I'm trying to expand upon that.
I have started this thread so that my old Knight thread doesn't get full of Marten.
I will update as I go.
As I have done before, I will be honest. Good, bad, otherwise.
I start next week.

Are you going to Ontario for orientation? You get to see all the other orientation classes on the tv screen during breaks. So Corporate is watching your every move and hearing your voices so you might not want to talk to loud if its any thing negative. When you see all the people in the orientations. You will see why they can care less about the drivers because next week. They will have a new crew in to replace the ones for the previous week. Gota love truckin.

Becarefull doing YouTube videos....DieselDucy Got fired from Marten for makeing videos....just a lil fyi something to think about before you commit to them. Personally you'd be 1000time better off calling Watkins Shepard youd make more, get treated better, get home every weekend (once you move to PA) and could still move with the company... and they love when drivers make videos...

that right he got fired for video tapeing himself throwing pallets out of the trailer at a truck stop (because the company made him do it) he even went into detail about argueing with them about it being illegal. He also got fired from SNI for makeing videos nothing bad there just SNI doesnt want a camera going while the truck was moving....

I'm going to go into this with my chin up. I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes. Good or bad. I will do my best to make it a good experience, as I have done in the past.
I won't be tossing pallets or recording it... HAHAHA!
