Saw an Ashley Furniture tractor pulling a Swift trailer leaving my local Walmart today. Did I miss a merger or buyout?

That is odd.
One of my CDL classmates works for Ashley and loves it. The company sent him to school for his CDL, but he has worked for Ashley for about seven years and is quite happy with them. -
Nope, no merger we have some swift contracts staging loads for some of the drivers, I have been with them for about 1.5 years, last meeting I was at, they were telling us they are looking to expand another 400 trucks in a few years, a very large plant coming on line in Advance N.C. , drivers needed mostly drop and hook.

They haul Heartland trailers sometimes in the Atlanta area, and heartland will on a rare occasion pull theirs. Also, they use the heartland Atlanta terminal as a drop yard. Seen questions like this on their forums at times also. Just one of those business things.
Bumper Thanks this. -
What is the trick to get in Ashley in Advanced,NC. I have 17 years of perfect experience and was passed by on hiring.

not sure if there is a trick or not. did you get a phone interview with them.

I drive for Poly Trucking, also a private fleet. We pick up backhauls to get us back to the plant(s). I was delivering a backhaul load in Port Neches, TX and there was a Ashley truck there. I didn't talk to the driver, but guessing he was doing the same as me, a backhaul load. Is that correct? Do you guys pick up backhaul loads to get you back to the plant?

yes we do get backhauls to get back to plant.
