If that is the western express with the white trucks and black lettering I think the word Western is misused there, I don't remember seeing their trucks anywhere except the eastern half of the U.S.

I really think you need to determine where you live and where the freight lanes are in relationship to where you live. If you run the west you are going to be mostly stuck on the I-5 corridor, because of the freight lane. It gets pretty boring sometimes running back and forth from LA to Portland or Seattle. Check out May Tucking out of Brooks Or. They have alot of basic freight like Interstate and Gordon. We run the same areas and to alot of the same shippers like Georgia Pacific. It took me several companies to find a home that is bearable and get respect. At May we run Pete's 379 and 387's and Century Freighliners. We are currently getting rid of all the Volvoes. Most Petes are 06 or 07's. We also have a 48 refer division if you like that. We mostly go coast to coast from Georgia to Oregon, or from the Northeast to Oregon. With your experience you should have no problem getting hired, just decide on a trucking company that is a good fit. Not one that just runs where you think you want to run. I've found that one that is based close to home is a better fit just so you can get home when you want, and then there isn't a problem of where to park the beast that is in a safe place. I've been driving since I retired in 2000 and May is my 4th company and hopefully my last. Been there for 5yrs. I can answer most questions you may have.

Thats how I like it myself. I hate big cities in rush hour. Seems like I always ended up at the very worst parts at the worst times. It was like my truck was a rolling billboard that said... HIT ME. -
4Truckers out of Morganton NC ( I40 ex 96 )run a lot of west cost freight. They have mostly new Freightliner Columbia trucks that are set at around 75 MPH and they pull mostly refers out to the west coast. My wife and i worked for them for around a year and a half and i cant say a bad thing about them. If you want you can drive for one of there owners ops as well if you want to do that big large car thing
By the way if you do go to work for them try and get Jerry Stevens as your dispatcher, he is outstanding! -
