Thanks to all for the info!!

Just curious...

USA I'd Like To Find Out More About IDC

Do they have many runs in the south or are they predominately Northwest. I live in Louisiana. Can't get anyone to answer at IDC Recruiting.

Its going well so far... I'm posting a day by day in my starting school tomorrow thread under the new drivers area.
The staff trainer my wife and I have is tough but very good. We are still very happy with IDC and looking forward to our OTR training.

They run all the lower 48 and Canada (not mandatory). They have a lot of runs in the south. Call and ask for Steve Blackett... he's pretty good about returning calls and was the guy that got us hired there.

IDC has a lot of terminals in the south as well.

BTW... IDC is going through a big hiring spree right now so you have to be patient with them. Last I heard, there were 27 people waiting to start school and they are going crazy getting all of us through Orientation and assigned to OTR trainers.

Personally, we haven't had ALOT of runs in LA, but we do them on occasion. We get to Texas and GA quite a bit.. and some Fla. It seems to me that its toughest area to get home in is Florida and Michigan. We take hometime in MI and until we parked a car in our terminal in Findlay, OH, the company was OK with bobtailing us the 250 miles to get us home when we needed.. but then again we stay out a long time.. up to 6-8 weeks at a whack. They didnt request or require that we put a car at the terminal, that was just something we took the initiative in doing.

Is Interstate Dist. Co worth working for?

I was just looking for information on IDC and found this thread. However it's dated back to 2007. What is the pay scale? Do they give raises? Do they allow pets? What about detention time? Do they get you home on time? (or close)

Our company recently changed Pet policy and needless to say, we're looking to change. However, in general, the company we work for is good and take care of their drivers.

Does Interstate have APU's?

Thank you for your time.

-Pay- is inline with everyone else.
-Pets- Yes you can have up to 2 pets, each requires a $750.00 deposit $150 of which is not refundable
-Raises- Good question..... your rate goes up along with your years of service as noted on the website, however there are no other raises that I know of at this time.
-Home Time- Wehave never had a problem getting home. We have gotten home a day late or some such but have always gotten home when we wanted to and yes you can take the truck home.
-APU- The newer trucks have APU's 2007 amd newer and some of the 2006's. The rest of us are all waiting patiently for an APU
