LTL Linehaul is where you take the freight from a small local teminal. To then deliver it to a large hub and pick up freight that is going back freight going back to your assigned terminal. The guys at our terminal where driving almost 500 miles a night for .49 per mile. then work the dock at a rate of $20 per hour. The money is good but the hours are long

Not much different than OTR, more predictable though... Right? 500 miles a day, 14 hour days, etc.. Seems like most are already used to that, no?

Ok...Patrick was the mgr when I hired on,they brought a new guy in just b4 Christmas.I liked the job ok,the guys I worked with were cool(Evan,Tim and Rob}Just couldn't do the l/h thing.

Oh btw, the guy they got to run Hinesville.....well he basically took the freight out sightseeing and brought ALOT of it back at night.

Actually no.I have run otr for close to twenty yrs b4 my local gig.It wasn't the miles or the amount of hrs, it was when the work/driving took place.
Overnight then sleep all day.I couldn't make the adjustment.

Sometimes I will hit a 14 hour night...90% of the time on the run I have is about 10 a night 5 nights a week. It's not bad. But you are right, alot of the guys have to run that much.
