Has anyone had a heart attack, and gone back to driving? I had 1 on June 17 and returned to work July 7. I drive in state for the most part (100% since HA) went today to renew my Fed Med card and was informed I should have not drove for 2 months after the heart attack and can't get my fed-med card until I undergo a stress test and I believe an echo cardiogram. Does this sound right? No one said a word till today,,, if my med card had not expired I would not even know yet.
TIA
Mark

Yes the rule is two months and you must complete a stress echo or other stress test. I didn't know either but found out as I was processing in with a new employer.

I had one March of '07. They never asked.. so I never told. I was 27 years of age, I'm 6ft 2in. 175lbs.. and in great shape. Just a bad ticker.

My first physical, the doc saw it and didn't say anything. My second one with a different doc ask me all about it and requested the test results.

Medical card is a one year card and he has to have a stress Test and echo cardiogram.gunguyr Thanks this. -
Thanks for the replies everyone. I am not to concerned about the tests..

I had one five years ago. They just want the flow percentage of blood to the heart. They should have a form to give your doctor. If you have already had a stress test the doctor will have that info. You will only be issued a 1 year card and have to have this info every year.
