I have been looking into switching from GPS to CoPilot Truck. Id be using it on IOS. Any opinions/reviews on this program, I couldnt really find any on here.

Does it use data, for stuff other then the live traffic updates?
Also, can you drag and pull the route to customize it, on the mobile version?
If you use it personally, do you notice it getting your phone hott at all from the constant gps use?

Ive been debating on purchasing lifetime updates for my used 510 tnd, or buying copilot app. I like how it says, you can customize your route.

    Skydivedavec Thanks this.

copilot runs circles around tnd 510. or any rand product for that matter. but i wouldn't use it on a phone. phones can't take that kind of abuse being used and lit up constantly.

buy a tablet. mine seems to be working rather well so far. with no heat.

copilot is a full fledged map. downloaded right to your system. it's 1.5 gigs of map so you need a wifi to download. unless you happen tohave unlimited internet.

I was thinking about getting the CoPilot truck GPS and running it on a tablet. Is anyone else running it this way? And if so how do you like it compared to a regular GPS? Any problems with the software? Thanks

I use version 9 and run it on a laptop. I like the laptop. My eyesight isn't very good with little stuff so using the phone doesn't interest me but times they are a changing.

Laptop would work too. But I do like the idea of a tablet because it takes up less room in the dash area and it is touch screen. Not sure exactly what version 9 is. Is it just one of the newer versions of the program? And do you like it?

Yes. I really love it. Using it with Google maps makes the best overall resource. I have a Garmin 760LMT for a second source as I am also a pilot and I got use to multiple systems for safety.

As to tablets, I think it will run on a tablet with no problem. There are different version. I bought mine through Diesel Boss. http://www.dieselboss.com/ He sponsors this site so I like to give him business when I can. I have the laptop holder that fits under the seat so that works great. A bit pricey but over the years it is worth it.

The folks at both Dieselboss and at Co-Pilot have be very helpful when I had questions. So all in all, I give it a 5 out of 5.

Hey thanks a lot for the response. I have been using Google maps/navigation on my phone for the time being, which is okay. But I am anxious about getting a more truck specific GPS..I will definrtly check out diesel boss. Is the copilot similar to the garmin as far as functionality and routing and such? Thanks again

They are two very different platforms. I really like them both and would be hard to tell you just to get one. The Co Pilot can be used for more things. So I would get that one first if you already have the laptop or table. But that is just my opinion.

Awesome. That was I was hoping to hear. Going to get a tablet off ebay and purchase the CoPilot. Was thinking that was the way to go. Just didn't see many reviews on it. Thanks for your responses!
