the $79.99 UMX240 to be exact.Does anyone know how to get it going? I am to the point that my laptop shows it connected yet i am unable to take it to the next level where i am on a webpage so i can type in the 192.168.1.1 numbers and complete the setup.Internet explorer advises me that i have a problem and it is unable to connect or similiar.ANY laptop i try has the same lack of a connection yet I have them paired.
I get mentally exhausted(apparently it is not too difficult for me to get there!) attempting but then I am a dinosaur and computer illiterate.I have turned my microsoft antivirus off and whatever else that i can think of yet all to no avail.I have youtubed it.It is fairly new but surely there is something out there.
THANKS in advance for any input.
yes I could call straight talk but there will be a language barrier so i am holding off on that for now.it may be unavoidable.

just call straight talk at 1-877-430-2355.... they will help you set it up
-
EDIT- didn't read, being a derp.
OP- call the support line.x#1 Thanks this. -
Straight Talk phone support really sucks. They are script readers you can't understand. You'll go through a dozen of them before you get a real tech. I've been with them since they started. They are great until you have a problem. You'll get better service from their facebook page. Two or three hang out there that seemed to be more helpful. You'll see on the top of the FB page a SUPPORT button. Use it.

If you're connected via wifi to the hotspot you should be able to access the 192.168.1.1 address. No need for outside internet access as that page resides on the hotspot itself.
Edit: I haven't used mine with windows, but have with Mac, iPad and an Android tablet. Any Windows users care to chime in? Does IE get fussy about connecting to local IP addresses?x#1 Thanks this. -

I haven't used IE in awhile. Have you tried Internet Options>>Tools>>Connections tab>>Set up

Why would you spend that money for straight talk when you could spend the same for Verizon (via millinicom) and get something that works virtually everywhere, and LTE no less? Read through the forums a little. Straight Talk may be you biggest issue

the problem is likely to be in my lack of computer skills and my inability to set it up-not that it is a straight talk.it has full signal strength everywhere i attempt to set up.i just cant get it to set up.the problem is w/my computer ignorance.i am not savvy tech wise.
i do appreciate the input however.thanks.someone will understand what i am trying to type and help hopefully.i had no idea to consider i am using windows until JPenn threw it out there.CCruiser's input was excellent but thankfully i was already on that one, stunned to be,but i was-HA!
