Where can I buy a fridge for my truck? A while ago I found a site that had custom made fridges for Volvos, Frightliners and Peterbuilts for about $500 but now I can find the site.... Even if I can find that again where can I find fridges that will fit my truck? Thanks!

Did a quick search and found Volvo has fridges for their trucks. Not sure if you're looking for something bigger or not.

I just use an Avanti fridge I bought online for around $100 shipped. Uses only about 80 watts out of my inverter, will not drain the truck batteries over a weekend at home, and has been running strong for almost 3 years now. Fits quite nicely in the fridge slot in my truck. It is a true compressor refrigerant unit and not one of the ambient temp type units in a truck stop. And it can really take a beating in my International 9400 that regularly runs thru areas like Joliet, Chicago, etc. The high ticket truck specific fridges work well, but I am convinced that they are over priced.

The Avanti is the same as the Koolatron 40B ... its a thermo-electric using state-of-the-art Heat Pipe technology. It will cool faster, slightly lower temps than a thermo-electric ... but does not have a thermostat.

If you go to TheTrucker.com, you'll find what you are looking for in the Featured Ads section on the front page.

No.... The Avanti I have is NOT thermoelectric cooling unit. They do have those models, but mine is indeed a compressor coolant model like a true fridge. I have used thermoelectric models in the past and never liked them. When the truck is off and all is quiet, when my Avanti cycles, you can tell the difference. It is like my fridge at home going thru a cooling cycle.
