I'd rather sit at home and starve then deal with UShi%.

"We're not a broker." BS on that.

Just about every "middle-man" type service out there is expensive. Have you tried to wire money by Western Union lately? And any trucking company who pays their "O/O's" 90-95 cpm, like so many do, seem to have some huge hidden fees too.

As far as that shipping wars show, it may all be hyped up for tv drama, but darn those people seem to have a lot of troubles. I don't seem to have all them odd issues come up, and don't think I would even if I had my own company finding loads like they do. Many of the problems they have, I see popping up, and could fix them in advance. As could most of the regular drivers I know.

I only got two pages in and the topic had shifted. (twice) To answer constitutional issue. Where I am if I haul grain into elevator and am overweight. (no CAT between loading/unloading unless I drive 30 miles out of direct route) The Elevator MUST open weight books to inspectors who can send me tickets months later.

While they normally are reasonable. One guy actually talked his way out of a almost 8k overweight ticket.....

Also folks that don't have lic/insurance are (as a group) unsafe. One of the reasons they don't have lic/insurance is because they can't/ its going to be $$$ because of past history. When they cause accident they are not able to pay so everyone else has to pay. (When you see the driver running from truck after accident thats a good clue) Its a major issue with cars/pickup/vans. I chased one guy down into bathroom in a business he was hiding in. Police were glad to chat with him. "I got my damages first in cash"
' I am looking at another truck. paperwork, DOT, insurance, etc costs are making me hesitate.

I have to agree with that. I haven't seen one FMCSA rule covering painters but give them half a chance and they might try.

Don:t even try sending money order from the post office to your bank. The form they require to be sure you aren't laundering money is ridiculous. Welcome to the workfare of pre-paid credit cards and the Bank of Walmart if you want to pay any bills if you are on the road for extended time

Not sure if they do it on purpose but i am very sure the show spells out really well how horrible the business is and I think UShip would be very wise to remove their name from it. Then again it is apparent by the people who run out and try to join in the country is filled with morons.

It is a show about bumbling morons and their troubles. It is really not glamorizing the business or UShip at all. The producers and not running an info mercial for UShip and that is 100% certain. These idiots damage and lie about it on every load they dont even measure and can't fit loads on without taking them apart. Their equipment is constantly breaking down , they get hassled by the cops. etc etc.

It is a huge Joke A&E is playing on UShip for anyone actually watching the show. I am pretty sure not even a single one of them made money this last season opening episode. Maybe take a step back and watch it as impatial to the business and you will see that this is a comedy of errors and nobody makes money.

Problem with uship is not only they don't do background checks to see if transporters are legal or nor they care but the legal ones seems to me is they use uship to book backhauls cause I see a lot of legal tsp's but they bid cheap also.If you read some of the questions they post to the shipper they will state they will do this for x amount cause they need a backhaul.I also found best shipments are auto transports for those who can haul 3-9 cars at per time. Now there are UNLICENCE BROKERS on there to who claim to be a licence broker who bid and book auto shipments and contract o/o's to haul there shipments. There couple of people I see on a daily bases who have over 400 + shipments under there profile but those people have a poor feedback but yet they are able to book shipments.Uhip also have this new payment plan where you have to get a code from the customer in order to get your money!Uship makes the customer pay the tsp fee up front via what they call a safe payment progress and are issue a code to give to the tsp once the shipment arrives. Now here the catch, this post to be for ALL tsp's but I seen uship wave that for those few unlicence brokers cause they make big bucks for uship!
