I do have a Class A CDL and like i said i have zip for tractor trailer experience let alone OTR. The closes thing i have for tractor trailer experience would be when i went for my class A in the truck i trained in and the recent dodge ram 3500 dually with a 51ft wedge 3 car trailer i drove for a day and a half....The owner ended up sellin the truck and trailer and its a lil bit of story...otherwise id be drivin it right now.

Maybe try expedite straight truck . Drivers must be:
- At least 21 years of age for cargo vans and straight trucks (no experience necessary)
- At least 22 years of age for tractor-trailers with a minimum of 6 months recent, verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Valid CDL
- A verifiable clean driving record and good work history
- No more than a combination of three moving violations/accidents/incidents in the last three years
- A cell phone
- A positive attitude
- Speak and read English well enough to do his or her job and respond to official questions
- Block, brace and tie down cargo
- Determine whether the vehicle is safely loaded
- DOT drug screen and physical exam, given at Panther Expedited Services orientation

They do have some ok rates mostly. -
Rick i did speak too them but from what i saw on the form the fact that its seems half the drivers out there are waiting on loads 1-4 days a week not even movin...which in my eyes really sucks and that class b straight truck experince i can't use there at all too move up too a tractor trailer threw the company what they said or any other tractor trailer company in that matter...And its teams which im not too keen on either.

There are carriers who will train you to drive an 18 wheeler. You may check with Millis, Roehl, Swift, CRST, Covenant or Stevens. I believe that all of them have training programs. If you want to stick with hot shots, check with Hot Shot Express or Jones Motor Freight. Hot Shot is a division of Jones. There could be an owner operator who might be able to use a driver. Bennett Transportation also has a hot shot division.
