JChors. I'm buying a 35+5 in the next few days. I haven't got a final answer on how long the neck is. But goin off of the majority of the trailers is around 8'. 40' of trailer and my F450. I'm around 65'-6". But you r sayin flatbeds are exempt.

According to the CHP, truck-trailer combinations in the auto transport industry (including those designed for hauling campers and boats) are exempt from the 65ft length limit. It does not apply to combinations hauling other types of freight. And this is California specific, so i cant speak for other states. I would contact your state's Commercial Enforcement Office for further info.
