Am I crazy? Or is this going about it the wrong way?

OK I understand what you are saying but you and others miss an important point - the cost per mile is not important, maybe he is running it at a lose for a reason.

A few people will do this, I know a couple who use their one business to offset their gains in another - the local football team owner did this for years and made it policy never to invest enough to make the team successful.

On the other hand, he is paying you, I know it is a PIA with scheduling and all of that but he may be just doing what the customer is telling him they want.

 

Must be nice to have so much that you need a trucking company on the side running in the red. It is an easy business to lose money in but I gotta believe there's an easier way with less red tape and headaches than trucking to lose money - lol.

 

You would not believe the number of people in the expedite end of this industry that run their business in the red.
