I think you need Canadian Authority. I have seen good paying freight going there. I have heard trouble finding stuff coming back. You can save time and distance by going over the lake on some runs.

might be diff nowdays but when i was going there you needed all the paperwork you had here plus needed a canadian broker to vouch for you or your co and he signed off on the entry bol, no real prob going in but if your bringing out better have your ducks in a row, we never brought anything out to much a pain but now this was with a refer van not a fb, laws here was wayyyy more strict than up there at least back then.

There's a bunch of loads going to Toronto. Figured it'd be easy to cross back to buffalo.

The broker thing is for the product you are moving, their job is to collect the tariffs and/or import/export fees for the shipment, they have zero to do with you as a carrier. Their relationship is with the people who are exporting the product, no one else. -
you will need a C.V.O.R. Canadian Vehicle Operators Registration - Costs $250 takes 8 weeks Also check with the CBSA (Canadian Border Services) go to their website and do a search...the CVOR is through the Ministry of Transportation (MTO)
I just got my CVOR 2 weeks ago, but my bond keeps getting rejected for a TYPO....be sure everything on your CBSA Application matches EXACTLY...... they rejected mine for a comma between my company name and LLC.... Good Luck
I am currently running loaded from Metro Detroit down through Ohio and PA up to Buffalo then across Canada home empty. Once the CBSA stuff clears I will run back and forth thru Canada, Making my run a day trip instead of overnight. -
Good deal Lawdog!!

My Bond was finally accepted and my CBSA Carrier Code came thru. Hauled first "In-Transit" load from MI to NY tonight. Went smooth
