What would be a nice size trailer to start out with. I don't want to purchase a 40ft if I don't need to. I do understand the longer the more you can haul.

I think a little more information is needed.
Do you have a CDL with a class A endorsement?
What will you be pulling it with?
What type of work will be done with this trailer?
Open or closed trailer?
And after that bumper or goose neck trailer?

I think you'd be making a big mistake buying a trailer with less than 40' of deck space. That is unless you already have guaranteed decent paying work lined up for it. I get a lot of calls here from guys who have purchased shorter trailers and they all sound desperate for work for them.

I do have a CDL (w/ air brake and hazmat endorsement.
2012 Dodge 3500. Gooseneck open trailer -
mr.harris ill say 31' with a 5ft dove tail. who your leasing with? I'm in LA too, across the lake.

i bought a 34 ft and next will be a min 38, like the old saying you can never have to much room or space, i miss out every day on good paying loads from length alone, and to go one better air ride because some loads need air ride and pay well, just my opinion anyway. Get a dovetail with good ramps.
