How would you allow them to plate the trailer with their own plates?
i lease a truck to a driver and it is my plates on the truck not his.

I think it's a great idea. If you do it for hot shots. I searched high & low for one & there was the ones in TX for $149 a day & the lowest I found was in NM for $800 a month. Both where 32fters

With a rental company the trailers would have to run the rental company plates.
If it was a lease to own contract, the leasing company would be on the title as the lien holder. At the end of the lease agreement, the leasing company would simply sign off on the lien against the trailer and guve the customer the title.
If it was just a straight lease, when the lease ends and the trailer was returned, the leasing company would simply have the customers name removed from the registration. Car dealers do this all the time. -
