Where did you see this?

I am currently leased onto someone but planning to get my own authority. Would like to know more info on this. I like Landstar because they have their own load board and no forced dispatch.

I spoke with Landstar over the phone and then at the Mid-America Truck Show in Louisville Ky. After speaking with them in person I decided to go my own way with my own Authority,MC and DOT. The deciding factor was that they get 30% right off the bat. With that said, now its up to you to decide whats best for you and your needs. Nothing bad to say about Landstar at all, but 30% is a bit much in my book.
KB3MMX, flatbedcarrier and truckon Thank this. -
30% does seem a little much. Thanks for the information.

If these lease on companies want to maintain, or get back to what they once were they'll need to change their ways, and they'll need to do it quickly. This move will just exacerbate their problems and it'll have a devastating effect on their current business.
I guess they haven't given any thought to what their current Semi Truck Owner Operator base will do when they start to see their LTL freight, and light weight full loads being loaded on these Hotshots?
I can see whats coming with this move. These Industry Giants really need some better Advisers -
KB3MMX Thanks this.

You mean he thinks he's getting 70% of the load. He's not even close. You ever wonder why some large carriers have multiple names/divisions? I'd bet he's getting more like 70% of maybe 75%/80% of the original freight rate.
