Yes if it plugs up.....truck won't be able to breathe. Better look at it during a run also......could be cherry red and will start a fire or burn the truck down.
So what's up? Age? Mileage? Additives in fuel ? Programmer ?
Better if you don't run it but that's me.......may I suggest you don't sleep in it with the motor running?
Just saying.....coderedenterprises Thanks this. -
Thanks for the reply chalupa.
It has 107k, no additives and no programmer. its been a great truck but just constant exhaust system issues. EGR cooler replaced and recently the def injector was replaced. Now the cat is bad or getting clogged up according to the dealer. I called Chrysler and they've agreed to pay for the new cat/replacement. from what I hear every new diesel truck, including 18 wheelers are having major issues with the def system. I'm figuring this wont be the end of my def system problems. -
It will if you do what many others have done.......and what I'm fixing to do once I'm out of warranty. Cost 2 days and about 2 grand. I can give you a phone number in Houston or you can find your own guy........get my drift??

i wonder what would happen if a rock knocked a hole in it before your new one came in. don't forget to scrap the old one.

In the 21 inspections ive had so far ive never seen one look at the exhaust system. Thats 21 inspections in 2 years by the way. They dont like pickups pulling car trailers.
